Combining nationaleducation standards and real-world critical thinking challenges, Your Classroom in Motion: A STEAM App Series transforms Universal Orlando’s top attractions like Skull Island: Reign of Kong™ and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit™, Jurassic Paleobotany into creative learning environments, with extraordinary education opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.
Dinosaurs aren’t the only lifeforms populating Jurassic Park™: There also thrives a lush botanical world that dates back to the Jurassic Period. In Jurassic Paleobotany, students become paleobotanists searching Jurassic Park™ for foliage from the era of the dinosaurs. Working together, students use tablets to locate and photograph plants, plotting their locations on a map, and comparing their findings to images of fossils.
The larger-than-life excitement of Skull Island: Reign of Kong™ unfolds as you navigate rough, unpredictable terrain in a state-of-the-art, independently navigated ride vehicle. In Kongtrol Panel, students learn just how precise the vehicle’s programming must be. Using tablets outfitted with digital protractors and ride paths of varying difficulty, students determine the correct vectors to launch their vehicles safely around the track. By reprogramming their commands to avoid collisions, students gain hands-on understanding of how these measurements translate into ride success. Afterward, students experience that knowledge first-hand with a thrilling ride through Skull Island: Reign of Kong™.
